REFUGE BAPTISM CELEBRATION - THIS SUNDAY at Refuge
Friends, this Sunday, we will celebrate at Refuge with our first baptism! Immediately following the (shortened) service, we will walk over to the pool at Blanchette and celebrate God's covenant through baptism. Immediately following our baptism we will head back over to Memorial Hall for a Refuge family BBQ! We will supply everything but the sides and dessert. Families with last names beginning with
A-N should bring a side dish and
families with last names O-Z should bring a dessert.
REFUGE GOSPEL CLASS - The pathway to membership at Refuge.
On Tuesday, July 15th, we will begin our first classes for
membership at Refuge. This class will focus on the Gospel and what
Jesus has called his people to through the church. Our desire is to
equip and train members of Refuge to live out the Gospel through your
whole person - your know, your be and your do. This class will take you
through the concept and command of "Church" as a whole, why become a
"member" of a church as well as through how each of our values - Truth,
Worship, Community, Reflection and Mission - incorporates your whole
person being transformed by the Gospel. We have a very high view of membership and this class should not be
taken lightly. Our mission is not for the mildly interested, it is for
the sold out and we view the responsibilities of those charged with the
care and shepherding of the church to provide the support, structure
and challenge for you to grow in and be transformed by the Good News of
Jesus. Here are the specifics: WHEN: Tuesday Nights, 6:30-8:30, July 15th through August 19th, 6 classes total. (*you are strongly encouraged to attend every class, but you can miss one week.) WHERE: Ridgecrest Baptist Church on the corner of 70 and 1st Capital in the Fellowship Hall. WHAT TO BRING: Bring your Bible, we will provide the curriculum each week. "Drivers of cars with bumper stickers, window decals, personalized license plates and other "territorial markers" not only get mad when someone cuts in their lane or is slow to respond to a changed traffic light, but they are far more likely than those who do not personalize their cars to use their vehicles to express rage -- by honking, tailgating and other aggressive behavior."
