KIDS Refuge
Kids Refuge LogoWe welcome you and your child to this vital ministry of our church. Your child is precious to you, so we join with you in one of your most important responsibilities: the nurturing of your child's development. Our goal is to provide your child with the physical care and spiritual training that will build within them the right concept about God, Jesus, and the church. It is our desire to provide a ministry to you and your child that is safe and relevant. We pray that the time your child is here is a great blessing to your family.

Age Groupings

We group children according to developmental similarities. Starting with our infants through seven years, we organize children in age categories that will complement their developmental journey. Please consult the KIDS Refuge signs or Hall Monitor to locate your child's room. After service, go directly to your child's room to pick up your children. We welcome you to fellowship after service as a family.

Nursing Mothers

A screened nursing area is available in our baby area for mothers and nursing babies.

Parent Call System

As you know, it is normal for children to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our teachers will immediately create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will page you: your child's security number found on the nametag/badge will be displayed on the video projection screen during the service. If you see your
child's number displayed, please leave service immediately and report to the KIDS Refuge Hall Monitor check-in table. Once you are able to calm your child, please return to service. If crying persists you will be paged again.

Staffing

KIDS Refuge volunteers go through a process that includes an application with a criminal background check and training. In an attempt to insure that children are properly cared for, we closely follow appropriate caregiver to child ratios. We expect all parents that use KIDS Refuge to assist in this ministry in some way.

Wellness and Safety

We ask families to cooperate in keeping KIDS Refuge a healthy and safe place by remaining home if your child is ill. All pacifiers, bottles, sippy cups, and formula dispensers should be labeled to help prevent children from sharing these items. Toys will be sanitized between each service to help prevent sickness.

Only regularly scheduled volunteers should be in our classrooms. It is best if parents remain outside the classroom until a volunteer can personally greet or return each child. Parents and other visitors are encouraged to visit outside of KIDS Refuge classrooms.

Security

The following procedures are instrumental in the security of KIDS Refuge. All children must wear a KIDS Refuge issued nametag while in our classrooms, and all adults are to have a matching numbered parent nametag to check their child in and out of KIDS Refuge. For your child's
safety, no child will be released to a parent with out this identification.
